Partnerships & Collaborations
L’ORx expands its European presence with the inauguration of a dedicated EU hub in Vienna, Austria. This strategic location will serve as the operational and collaborative center for L’ORx’s work across the European Union, advancing our mission to align built environments with measurable health benefits.
Why Vienna
Geographic and political access: Vienna’s central location and strong connections to EU institutions make it an ideal base for policy engagement and cross-border projects.
Design and research ecosystem: The city hosts leading universities, research institutes, and a vibrant community of architects, designers, and applied scientists—partners essential to our multidisciplinary approach.
High standards for public health and urban planning: Vienna’s long-standing focus on livability, sustainability, and evidence-based urban design matches L’ORx’s values and enables rapid pilot implementations.
What the EU hub will do
Coordinate pan-European projects that integrate health-driven standards into architecture, interior design, and urban planning.
Serve as a research and testing center in partnership with local laboratories and academic institutions to validate environmental health metrics (air quality, acoustics, light, material toxicity, microbiome).
Offer consultancy and technical support to architects, developers, health systems, and public authorities looking to optimize spaces for occupant health.
Host workshops, continuing-education programs, and demonstration projects for professionals and stakeholders across the built-environment sector.
Act as a policy liaison to promote harmonized health-oriented building standards across EU member states.
Key services available from the Vienna hub
Environmental health assessment and certification for residential, workplace, and public spaces
Design guidance integrating biophilic principles, material health screening, and circadian lighting strategies
Acoustic and indoor air quality optimization plans and monitoring programs
Pilot programs for adaptive HVAC, microbiome-informed cleaning protocols, and low-emission material sourcing
Project management for multi-stakeholder retrofits and new builds with measurable health outcome targets
Partnerships and collaborations L’ORx Vienna will work closely with architects, designers, artists, specialized laboratories, and industry partners whose standards align with a health-first approach. The hub will also engage municipal authorities and EU policymakers to advocate for evidence-based standards that improve population health through better buildings and public spaces.
Impact and measurable goals (first 24 months)
Launch three pilot projects across Austria and neighboring EU states demonstrating measurable improvements in indoor air quality, acoustic comfort, and occupant wellbeing.
Establish at least two formal research partnerships with universities or laboratories in Vienna.
Deliver certification or assessment services to a minimum of ten projects, including residential developments, workplaces, and public facilities.
Host a public symposium showcasing evidence and best practices for health-focused design.
Contact and next steps Professionals and organizations interested in partnering with L’ORx or engaging the Vienna EU hub for assessments, pilots, or policy initiatives are invited to contact our EU operations team to discuss project scope, collaboration models, and pilot opportunities.
L’ORx remains committed to transforming how environments support health. The Vienna EU hub accelerates that commitment across Europe, enabling scalable, evidence-based improvements to the spaces where people live, work, and heal.
